The 2022 RAM 2500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter V8 engine with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. This engine has a maximum payload of 4,010 pounds and a towing capacity of 17,540 depending on the drivetrain, cab size, and bed length.

RAM offers an optional Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel Inline-Six engine that delivers 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. This engine hauls up to 3,160 pounds of payload and can tow up to 20,000 pounds, depending on the drivetrain and other equipment.

The standard transmission is an 8-speed automatic. RAM offers a six-speed automatic. All of the trims come standard with rear-wheel drive, except the Power Wagon, which is the only model that comes standard with four-wheel drive. The other five trims have available four-wheel drive.

Buyers get the standard 6.4-liter V8 Hemi engine. Those who want more towing capability can choose the 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel with a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds. The 2022 RAM 2500 towing capacity is substantial for its class, especially when equipped with the diesel engine.

The Power Wagon trim comes with extra off-road features, like skid plates and an upgraded suspension. This trim comes with Tru-Lok Front and Rear Axles, a Front Disconnecting Stabilizer Bar, and Ram Articulink Suspension for additional off-road support. All models come with the necessary Tow Package with a hitch and 7-pin wiring harness.

The 2022 RAM 2500 offers several seating configurations based on the cab size and the trim. Buyers can choose a two-door Regular cab with seating for two or three.
